2010 ALASKA SCHOOL LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE &

UAA RAPPS UAA ASPIRING PRINCIPALS INSTITUTE

May 31 - June 4

Captain Cook Hotel, Anchorage

One hundred percent of the 125 participants in the 2009 Alaska School Leadership Institute asked EED and the RAPPS Project to do another Institute in 2010.  This year's ASLI will be held and the Captain Cook Hotel in Anchorage beginning Monday evening May 31st.  Nationally recognized Institute presenters will include Dr. Al Bertani, Lexi Domaradzki, Deb Farrington and Cherie Lyons, all of whom received great reviews from last year's participants.  


The UAA aspiring principals receiving RAPPS scholarships will also attend a week-long institute.  This year both programs will be held at the Captain Cook.   Pam Robbins, nationally recognized presenter and the author of The Principal’s Companion and the New Principal’s Fieldbook will be a major presenter for this institute.  


Several optional pre-conference training opportunities, including an optional session focused on McREL’s Power Walkthrough program, are being planned for Monday, May 31.

  2. •There is no fee for RAPPS district staff to attend any of the events below, but everyone must register online so we can send materials and log in information. 

  3. •Optional 500-level professional development credit for re-certification is offered for most activities.   The RAPPS grant will not cover credit fees.
